I want to lower the car as well as track it every once in a while. I would also like to be able to reduce the oversteer. I figure that the adjustability would allow me to make the front a bit more stiff than the rear.

Stock my S2000 rode great, but as far as I'm concerned it looked like a truck. Way too high. I lowered it on Eibach springs which rode very similar to stock, but gave a much more pleasing apprearance. That still wasn't enough for me.

I had the Eibachs for less than 1k miles before I yanked them out in favor of D2 coilovers. Mike at Evasive gave me a great deal on them, after selling my Eibach springs the way I look at it is that I got a stiffer, firmer riding car that is more aesthetically pleasing now that it's at the "Proper" ride height.

As far as trade-offs are concerned, driveshaft spacers are $200 bucks, and an alignment is $60, so for $260 extra there are no trade offs.

What made me want to get a firmer ride was last week, the first time I had my car over $100. I felt that at high speed the car felt very shaky and unstable. I was not pleased at all. Although I don't condone speeding, nor do I do it often (I've been driving sports cars since I was 16 and have never been pulled over before, let alone a ticket), I like the piece of mind knowing that I'm planted on the ground nice and tightly.

Was it worth it? Yeap!

IIGQ4U - to reduce oversteer, a front anti-sway bar can induce more understeer without ever changing to coilovers. Alignment settings can also have an effect - just a couple of options. Alone, coilovers won't necessarily change anything - but unless you are willing to tune/fiddle with the suspension to get the balance where you want, I wouldn't start off with changing the coilovers. Anti-sway and alignment are much easier to setup the way you want. If you want to lower the car, then personally I wouldn't go that route without having coilovers and being willing to tune the suspension to get as good/better handling than stock. I wouldn't accept lesser handling to lower my car...

BTW - I'd be careful about just changing the oversteer/understeer until you get more track time. Planting the backend and pushing the front around can be frustrating on the course. For now, I'd like to actually preserve the stock oversteer/understeer balance while reducing roll - the coilovers, tuning give me the flexibility to make this happen.

Just curious but how does a more firm suspension make your car feel more stable if you are traveling in a straight line
at a high rate of speed?

I have been over 100mph in this car once and I did notice that it feels twitchy but I figured that the car needed more down force up front. I never thought that this could have been due to suspension.

Most of the time,you will just degrade the OEM suspension,with cheap mods.
