Upgrade or Downgrade ?
ok so here it is, i'm on the border of which model to buy an my03 or a my04, (no this is not another one of those which is better threads), i have been reading and soaking all the information i can.
so my question is i know that alot of owners have "upgraded" to a my04/my05 for many of reasons, but i haven't come across to many threads where someone owned a my04/my05 and decided to "downgrade" to a my03.
by downgrade i do not mean a bad thing, more of i want an 9k redline and so one.
so if you have done this or considered it please voice your opinion. thanks to those who respond.
hope i don't get flamed for this one.......

most people won't downgrade for the pure fact that they need a new car.... now for instance when i bought my car.. i had a choice of an ap1 or an ap2... both brand new with only 3 miles on the car....
well my coice... i picked the ap1.... and i haven't looked back since...

think about it for a second.
if AP2 comes AFTER AP1...and the person bought the AP2, it means the had the opportunity to choose the AP1...and they passed on that opportunity.
So, logically, AP2 owners would not switch to AP1.
AP1 owners, however, bought AP1 without the option of AP2, so when they have the opportunity to choose AP2, they will do the swap.
That is why there are people that go from AP1 to AP2, but you won't find people that go from AP2 to AP1. So these statistics do not mean anything.
This is common intelligence, u should be able to figure this out without conducting a poll.

I have a headache now......but this theory is time sensitive. Now that the 04 and 05 have been out for 2 years you have people buying both directions.
I would read up on what both have to offer. They are similar in many ways yet different. Especially as a Daily Driver.....

I bought an '04 because I wanted a new car, not a used '03 or a left over '03 that had 300 miles worth of test drives on it. I found a couple of those!
I was, when I first read of the engine changes, mildly disappointed in the loss of the 9k redline, I was looking forward to that part! But I'm not diappointed in my 2.2L in any way.
Having said that, if Honda discontinued the S2000 tomorrow and my car was totalled the day after (heaven forbid!) I'd strongly consider looking for a relatively low mileage '02 or '03 just so see what the other side is like. I'm certain I'd be satisfied with either but to trade my '04 for an older car, no way!
