Update on getting new top
Some of you asked me to keep you informed on my progress on this subject. So far, Honda has agreed to replace my damaged top (caused by the plastic abrasion inside) with a similar top and I pay for labor. I told the service manager to tell the Honda Rep that this is not acceptable. I wrote a letter to the dealership as I wanted to build support from them as they are a old and large dealership who started selling Hondas in 1976. They agreed with my position on replacing the top with the 02 top (glass and defroster) and I pay the difference for the new top vs. old. They pay the labor. This approval comes from the Sales Manager, Service Manager and Head Technician. Now comes the fun part. The Honda Rep will be coming around after the Holidays and they will present him with my letter, documentation from the website on this widespread defect as well as digital phots the dealership took of my damage which were sent to Honda technical. I'm taking this in small steps getting full dealership approval rather than going right to Honda. That may change if the Honda Rep doesnt budge. Wish me luck.
