ap1 is a chassis code. any s2000 from 200-2003 is called an ap1 and any car 2004-2009 is an ap2. its like an evo 8 vs an evo 10. new chassis, engine, body. if you have an ap1 then you have an f20c engine which is a 2 liter and if you have an ap2 you have an f22c which is 2.2 liter.
