I like my turbo S2000. The fun factor when I finally got to drive it was just awesome. It drove like stock till you hit 6k and bang the turbo spooled, the wastegate howled, and away it went. If I wasn't in the seat the 400 horseys or so would have left me behind. Total miles since turbo is around 600 or so, so the turbo is still young. The car felt faster than stock (of course) but the power did not just hit all of a sudden. It felt almost like the stock powerband only better.

This is the first remotely quick car I have ever owned.

Supercharged or turbo? Shoot, I can not get over the stock powertrain....

I love my S as is...it has nothing to prove to me.

I see it wont pass the visual. I had a Grand National with 500 hp and it had no problem passing the emissions part of the test even with all of the modifications I had with the bigger turbo and what not. Also the same with my GSX. The really only visual thing they used to check where I am from was the cat and gas cap.

I know that the 225whp are coming from J's CAI, J's Throttle body, J's headers, J's single (or dual) exhaust without the J's N1 ECU install. I saw a dyno chart the other day, with this setup.

This is an interesting thread.

Where I live, I am not required to get my car inspected.

Turbocharging has it's set of drawbacks - especially custom setups. Turbo cars are sensitive to atmospheric temps so cold weather net's you an extra 1 - 1.5 psi whether yo wanted it or not (but it's fun to drive when the weather gets cold!) But the cool weather boost spike is either welcome or undesired depending on your level of tuning. Which leads to another point - Turbo cars require lot's of tuning to get everything just right. I think you make too many comprimises with the turbo setups on cars that didn't come that way from the factory. You put additional stress on the fuel systems and you have to upgrade your cooling systems for you need reliability. Don't forget all the additoinal electronics you have to get (boost controller, turbo timer, modifying the MAP sensors etc. It's a mess. GO with an SC if you want a more reliable FI setup. Turbocharging can be rewarding...but can almost be as expensive as a good balanced NA setup.
