THE TURBO IS HERE: 334 rwhp.
All I have to say is.. jesus. I'm tired, so I'll go into more detail later today.
We had a hell of a time last night, got stuck in the worst traffark ever outside of tampa, and it took us like 7 hours to make a 4 hour trip. Comedy of errors ensues, speedcraft guys are missing, I call a friend (waking him up), get derrycks number (waking him up) by getting him to go through my pms, get speedcraft owners name and location, call 555-1212 and get 3 numbers, none of whom are him (but waking all of them up), go next door and pound on the storage facility/apartment of one of the co-owners, no answer, 1 hour later, extremely tired, about to leave, co-owner pulls up and... shows me the money.
We went for a test ride and everything, did all the paperwork and I drove back to tampa, arriving shortly after 5 am.
The dyno showed 337 horse, without the exhaust and dyno tuning. I'll get these printouts scanned in as soon as possible. The curve is kinda loopy up top, something I fully expect the v-afc and dyno tuning to smooth out, maybe nudge it up a horse or two, but obviously with the exhausts (dual apexi N1s), as sweet as they sound, probably rob 10 or 15 horse. I would estimate the final number to be around 325 or 330, not too far from derrycks (but a little better *nudge derryck*). I estimated (based on 16% drivetrain losses - this about right?) 397 horse at the crank. I'm no scientist though, maybe my math is off. Someone correct me? Using the same math, 325 hp at the wheels w/ 16% losses = 387hp?
As far as how it rides.. It is incredible. 1st and second gear are just torque monsters. Once you step on the gas, you better be prepared, because it's gonna spool _real_ quick and shoot your rpms through the roof. It's _really_ difficult to snap into the next gear before you are bouncing off the 9k mark. It basically accellerates up the tach. I would estimate first gear at WOT takes only a second or two.
However, I won't really be able to utilize 1st and 2nd gear for a while. I spin my tires all the way through both. Sometimes I'll hook up real good, but other times, it's skiredly-delly-delly-dirrly-skirt *oops* get off the gas! 2nd gear is a _blast_. I really don't have good words to describe it all. The car is just a rocket now. I am honestly hard pressed to believe that there are many stock cars out there that can even come close to this. The butt-dynometer is broken.
It definitely doesn't feel the same. Understatement of the year right there, but basically I'm trying to convey that I'm afraid as hell to unleash some power in mid-turn. So far it's been on the straight and level and with no one near (in case of my tire slippage). If you track this car or still want too, it may make things much MORE difficult to post good times because instead of really being able to take the car to it's full potential through each and every turn, you'll now have to pay special attention to your throttle (I know that sounds obvious, but I mean *special* attention).
This is a very potential 11 second car. With derryck posting 12.1, I'm really sure that an 11 second run will be forthcoming soon enough. As soon as I scrounge enough for some wheels and tires, I will be the first out to the track and scan my timeslips so you nonbelievers can see for yourself.
As far as price (I'll try to be objective as possible about what I do and don't like) - it was steep. 6200 for the kit (only for the first 5 I believe, then it bumps to 6500), which is a bare minimum. I bought two gauges (egt and boost), the pair of n1 apexis, and the boost controller (so I can have light boost days and eat up some track days). Total tab, 9k. Superleggeras + tires, probably will bring this total to 11.8k. The kit also doesn't include a turbo timer. Rounding up? 12k. It is not a cheap set of mods. It is worth every single penny.
Service? Was a little slow, and I was under the assumption they'd install my v-afc for me. One month total time in the shop, however there was a back order on some of the parts (I believe the n1's). They aren't great about telling me what was going on, I felt as if I was nagging them calling all the time, but honestly? They got the job done, and I'm more than happy with it.
I still have a lot to say, but I gotta get working and such.. I will try to post more later. And derryck, one more time, sorry for waking you up last night, but you were a lifesaver. If derryck hadn't gotten up and given me some info, I would have driven to jacksonville and back last night (sans s2k), and been one _extremely_ unhappy camper. You da man.

Chris,
Glad everything worked out and glad you're happy. I tried to tell you that it would all be worth it. Just stay out of trouble at the street races down there (read: don't get arrested). I'm glad that you posted so some of the non-believers can jump on your case instead of mine.
As far as Speedcraft goes, yeah they are a little slow getting things done sometimes but they do very high quality work. And I would also like to say that as far as your bill goes, your 'gadgets' (gauges, boost controller, etc.) are all higher end items and therefore expensive. Someone could buy a kit and have high quality 'gadgets' for less money but it's never going to be as cheap as a SC. I don't know if you have ridden in an SC'ed S2 but I have and there's just a huge difference in how they feel.
As for waking me up... don't worry about it. I was actually hoping to meet up with you just so I could see the look on your face after you drove the car. Almost came up to the shop when you woke me up but decided to go back to sleep instead.

the turbo does sound nice... 9k... ouch. Definately not even close to my price range (low 10 second yamaha YZF r1 can be had NEW for $9500). But I would recommend looking into changing your gears around. The stock (4.1 I believe?) are just too short for an 11 second car that is not intended to be a 1/4 mile queen... My motorcycle redlines first gear at 68 mph, second at 100 and runs high 10s. It just makes better use of power for the street and it's very controllable in all gears. When you are spinning your tires, you are wasting forward motion.

I'm not comparing bikes and cars.. I'm just saying for my $9gs a R1 is my tool of choice for speed. Or maybe a hayabusa... you can't argue the 10.2@140 1/4 mile times R1s post, all with a warranty and 40 mpg.
But then again, if you aren't a bike person, a s2000 + this turbo is a nice choice for those who want an alternative towards the z06 Corvette (which should be close to the same speed).
