When i get my vafc installed, the installer said they could tune it reasonably by simply driving the car..... hmmm. Is that them trying to make me look like a fool, or is that reasonable. If i had to choose between letting them on the spot tune it or put someone elses settings in, what should i do. Should i do both?? Put the settings in and let them tweak them?? I have to do some of the above to get it to the dyno in the first place. Opinions welcome!

He's right. Leave everything set to 0 until you can get it on a dyno WITH a wideband O2 sensor. There is no way to acuratly decrease the ammount of fuel by a seat of the pants approach. A dangerously lean condition could be made very easily.

Just to say again what has already been said. Tuning without a dyno and an Air/Fuel meter hooked up is impossible. Anyone saying they can do so should not be trusted with your car. Tuning in this way can cause serious damage to your engine no joke...! Peace

Wow! That tuner must have a very special BUTT DYNO that can check the air/fuel ratio.
Any real tuner knows that you can't just plug numbers into the VAFC. Every car is a little different. Personally, if a tuner told me that...I wouldn't trust him even intalling my VAFC.

Sounds prettly much like what i expected. As for the stock o2 sensors, i don't know. If i was to put an A/F guage in, would that change any of your all's opinions?? Thnx.

An A/F gage in the car is for warning/info only. It is not accurate enough for one thing, and secondly, you need the accurate wideband reading on a graph by RPM so that you know where to cut/add fuel and how much.
