Sorry but there's no way it's worth close to what you owe. I bought a 2001 with 60K miles for less than $17K....over 2 years ago. It was in perfect condition too. I doubt you'll get over $15, but good luck.

I wouldn't bother with Carmax unless you don't mind being majorly low-balled. Every car I have ever taken there, they have come back with some crazy low-ball figure. I have even looked at their website, found the same car with more milage that they were asking like 10K more for than the offer they gave me, shown them the car on their site. They went and got the sales manager and the only reply he could give me is, "I don't know, I don't know why that is priced that way, but......"
Your best bet is to sell it to a private party. You will always get more this way. Selling to a used car dealer or a dealership will probably get you more than Carmax, as a second choice.

Also try to find a good place to park it during the day. If you can manage, park the car on a busy street, but some place where people can see it and still have time to park easily near by. This works best on busy small roads where the traffic is going slower with a public parking place.

Thanks for the input. I am calling a dealership now. Private seller would be best, but it isnt prime season for a drop top. I am trying to avoid investing in winter tires and more payments (ie selling it before it starts to snow).

Carmax pays me top dollar on the trucks and SUV's I've taken to them. I've never tried a sports car. I know my Buddy with a vette didn't get the best price.
When it comes down to it selling a car's simple economics. What will the market bear? The quicker you want to sell it, the lower you price it. It works for burgers and works for cars.
