Default Trunk gets damp

The bottom of my trunk gets quite damp.
Is this normal?
It's damp only at the very bottom of the trunk.

not normal at all. you probably have a bad trunk/vent seal.

Should the dealer repair it under warranty?

Helms manual has it on page 20-107.

Excerpts from the UK threads.

I've noticed that my car felt a bit damp and smelt musty. I thought that it was only because I haven't used it much recently. About two weeks ago, I bought something that didn't fit in the boot, so had to take the tool tray out. Imagine my surprise when I found water in the bottom. I assumed it was either rain that had got in with the boot open, or something in the boot that leaked, so I mopped it out. Two weeks on and it's filled up again.
I park my car on a sloping driveway, so it is facing slightly uphill. I don't see how it could leak around the boot seals. Has anyone else experienced water entry? It's booked in for surgery on Thursday, but I just wondered where the problem could be.

UPDATE
I've just got my car back and they did find the leak. It was not the boot seal, it was the air outlets. Behind the center trim, there are two air outlets, which vent the body of the car. They are hidden behind the rear bumper. Apparantly the seal had failed on one of them, so they had to remove and re-seal it.

I've had water in the bottom of the boot on two occasions. Well, to my knowledge - it's hardly a place anybody explores frequently.
Both times it seems to have occured in winter and I have come to the conclusion that it may well have something to do with my paranoia over road salt and overenthusiastic use of the hose pipe directed under the rear bumper.
I believe the force of the water lifts the two flaps on the vent which allows a little water to get in.
I confess I've not tested this in any way but seems a fairly logical explanation - for me at least.

.... the bottom of my boot that is!
Just giving my car a spring clean and while hovering the boot decided to do a thorough job and lifted out the jack/tools moulded polystyrene thingy, had quite a surprise to find the carpet underneath all wet!?!

I am reading the Helms manaul right now, but still couldn't determine where the vent should be located.

Took it to the dealer and had the vent seal replaced.
