Are you suggesting that these directional tires be used in the reverse direction?

Palmateer,
If you took the tires off the rims and switched the left tire to the right rim and vice a versa the direction of the tread remains the same.

It would cost you a few bucks to remount and balance. This was suggested to me by a tire shop and I wondered if anyone does it.

I know we're never going to get 80,000 miiles on a set of S02's but it might get a few extra miles on the cheap.

Interesting! Looking forward to hearing that someone actually had success with this idea!

I wonder if the tires look a little weird with the outside facing in?

I heard you can get a slight improvement in snow traction by turning a directional tire backwards. Maybe do it for a couple months of winter just incase?

No track time, as yet. 8k and I have lots of tread left. I've jacked the car up and taken measurements, as well as inspecting the wear bars, etc. on all four tires. My guess is that smooth driving techniques win out over cowboying the car around; also, proper alignment is important, as is making sure the spring spacers have been removed.

26,000 on rears and just about ready for replacement. one autocross and lots of fishtailing uturns. the fronts have about 1/2 life left. i think the trick is to keep at least 38 lbs cold. no wet driving for me
