Travel Channel S2000 Sighting
There was an S2000 on the Travel Channel's "Speed Trap" program. The show is all about radar, laser, tickets, and court. A very interesting show that discusses which detection devices work and the legalities of jammers. Ohio and Florida were listed as the worst states for people to speed in. Two cities in FLA (Waldo (?) and Lawton) were recognized by AAA as being speed trap zones that motorists should avoid at all costs. The police were on construction vehicles wearing hardhats and orange vest clocking people with radar.
It discusses the Federally mandated 55 mph limit and how it has affected traffic and speeding today. Being from VA and owning a radar detector I am always trying to get as much info about how police gauge, target, or determine who is speeding and who gets tickets vs. warnings. The show blames the 55 limit for giving people a right to drive 55 in the left lane. Where other countries live by a slower traffic keep right and pass left rule. VA drivers, not S2000 drivers of course, are extremely bad about slow driving in the left lane.
They interviewed some street racers and victims of the FLA speed traps. They also interview people at a car show about speeding in general. There is a Spa Yellow S2000 in several of the interviews and a shot of the engine bay amongst the car shots.
An author of a book about beating speeding tickets gave advice on what to say to the officer and how to approach fighting the ticket in court. He claimed to have gotten out of 8 of 10 radar tickets. Definitely worth a watch if it comes on again. I thought I would share with everyone. Keep an eye out for it.
