Transmission Question, New + Cold = Notchy?

New + cold = notchy shifting.

Don't sweat it, it gets a little better as the car breaks in. This is relatively common for RWD cars.

I had a 2000 and iy shifted notchy and they had someone from honda flown in from ca an they rebuilt the entire trans all new except case and then it shifted like grease now I have a 2002 and it shifts fine except for a little notchy feel sometimes from 2nd to 3rd

My transmission is also notchy, just like all of you guys. But on long trips on the freeway it feels very smooth, I guess its because the transmission becomes really warmed up.

I had hit it to 9000 when it was brand new.
It had missed third and i was very nervous cos all the crap of good transmition.
But now it feels like butter.cold or warm and doesnt jump.
OK OK here.

ya same here, yesterday when i took out my s2k, it didnt want to go into 1st, warmed up a little bit and was working fine.

of course, the use of an auto-starter solves this problem... 5 minutes or less of running, i get in, i'm warm, i have a fairly warm shift knob (convertible heat setting is a wonder), and the car is ready enough to start off. ta-da!

yup it will be notchy when its cold and new. I have 7800 miles and she is still notchy every morning. you get use to it.
