Transferring the Certified Preowned Warranty
Hey, I just bought a Certified Preowned S2000 and the previous owner (who bought it from the dealer when it was first CPO'ed) said he spoke with the dealer he bought it from and that they said there was no additional warranty. I'm pretty sure the CPO cars come with a 7 year 100k mile powertrain warranty and the car is DEFINITELY CPO (carfax verified and I have the paperwork).
Where do I go from here? Should I talk to Honda to transfer the warranty? Does the car definitely have the warranty? Do I need to work the transfer through the previous owner/dealer? I'm kinda lost as to what to do, since the previous owner already called the dealership and did what he could to help me out, I'd rather not continue to bug him about this, but if there is a warranty on the car that I could have transferred to me, I definitely want it!
Thanks!

CPO only gives an additional 1 year 12k mile warranty from the time the factory warranty ends...
But you can purchase an extended warranty which follows the car and not the owner.

On all CPO Hondas
Call you dealership...they should be able to halp you out.
This should make the coverage very clear: Honda Page
This page shows a comparison between CPO programs and clearly states the warranty is transferable: Honda Page

OH OH OH, I just did this! You have to call American Honda and tell them the situation, give them your information. Then you must have the previous owner call them and give them his information and confirm that the car has transferred ownership.
The warranty is a 1 year 12,000 mi warranty with a 7 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. Good luck, enjoy the new car. Be careful, expecially in the rain!
PS - Sorry you got stuck with a black one, I guess we can't all be lucky enough to get yellow
