Here all all the recent sales of 2001 S2Ks.

The local porsche dealer had a low mileage s2k on the lot so I stopped by to check it out and just play around with the idea of trading mine in (156k miles) on it (10k miles).
I wasn't hung up on it if they didnt, I was more curious as to what they'd offer me for mine.
They called me the next day and told me the S sold (didnt bother me) and I asked for the numbers anyway just because.
They said they'd give me $3600 for it.
I quietly hung up on him.

Some dealer's strategy is to get a trade way below wholesale market. Seems stupid as 90 percent of the time people get angrier than those Amy's Baking Company lunatics or just walk out. Only takes one fool, though, then they have a $15,000 pay day on a $6000 investment. Before going on my own I worked at a dealer where common strategy was to have the used car manager bid the trade and offer the customer 2k below his bid for the extra profit. Never felt comfortable doing that, but presented the offer with a straight face. Never went well once.
I don't do trade ins that often, and when I do I show them the same information I'm giving you, and how much money I expect to make on it to be worth my time.
Honestly I think S2k prices are quite inflated, and will probably stay that way. This is a buy and hold car. Not a buy and sell car. Since cost of ownership is so low, keeping one up over a long period isn't that hard. A porsche on the other hand...
The bid on the 150k+ mile car was conservative because they couldn't find comparables. They didn't want it.

A Dealer Offered Me 6K For My 08 Gpw Red/Black 50k Miles. I Laughed And Walked Out.
Yeah tell me about it. He came back like "I have great news! We loved the car and think it's in fantastic shape. We think a fair offer would be 6k." I was like "lol" and left. They would buy it for 6k then I would see it on the lot for 23k two weeks later. f@#ken scammers.
