Guess you guys missed the last AP2 v. AP1 debacle.

Glad to see this post is not taking that path

the newer and lower mileage a car has, the better. But I don't know squat about cars

So where is this guy, I'll swap with him if I can move all my parts and get the trade in value up a bit.

5 years newer and a 100k miles less? I wouldve jumped on the opportunity esp if they let me keep my aftermarket stuff...but thats only based on how much i personally love the S2 and see myself driving it for atleast another 5 years...but thats just me

You answered your own question. It's all a matter of preference. Polling us won't tell you which you prefer. See also any former thread asking whether an AP1 or AP2 is better.

My advice... fix your current car, drive it and enjoy it until it gets paid off. Only then even think about "trading up" to something different. Even with a fully fixed, paid off AP1, I'm still not sure I'd pay huge bucks to upgrade to an AP2.

Keep the AP1, make it a track whore, buy an AP2 for the street. Best of both worlds

I was in this situation where I only have 8 payments left on MY 03, and I want a 2005 GPW. Mine is the super common Silverstone. Mine already has front and rear Ap2 bumpers, Ap2 exhaust tips, Ap2 red/ black seats, Ap2v2 wheels and ONE Ap2 headlight. All it needs is one headlight and both tailights and the conversion is complete. I only owe about $2000 on the car. If they wasn't asking soooo much for low mileage Ap2 GPW/ tan ($18k +), I might have pulled the trigger. My Ap1 only has 66k miles. It didn't make any sense money-wise. I was hoping I could sell mine for $12k (hopefully), pay the bank and have $10k to put down. I was going to sell it now, while book values are through the roof and keep adding to the down payment. I would wait for one to POP up for sale. I'm not like these other guys. I will go 6 states over to get it. Though I'm in Florida and there are 62 for sale in a 300 mile radius. On paper it doesn't sound like too bad of an idea. The money I would be making for the payment on the Ap1, I could use towards a down payment. The main problem is the color of the car. I rather sell it and buy the color I want, versus painting it. Any thoughts on this matter....Kin
