Traded in the S..... Got a Z
#41
Just an FYI, the Z has no more problems. In 03 it had it's fair share, but it was a first year car. No more tranny issues, no more tire issues, no more any issues!
Good choice in cars, both of them!

""All you hear"??? You must have selective hearing. I have heard plenty of complaints on this site over the years, enough to scare off many potential buyers. "
He speaks the truth. When I was considering the s2k one of the main things that scared me off were all of the threads I read about owners with problems. And NO! I am not saying the s2k is aproblematic car at all. But in the early stages it did have its fair share, as did the Z. No way in hell I would have boughten an 03 Z either.

Can you explain your clutch issues more in-depth? Was the clutch not working correctly or just making some noises and shuddering sometimes? I have about 30k on the friction disk and about 45k on the clutch as a whole and it squeaks somtimes and sticks a tiny bit at the very bottom, but it is nothing severe. I am just curious because I know the clutch isn't all that powerful (you can slip it pretty easily), but it doesn't seem to just stop working or break....at least not in my experience.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have to support you on this, I have had cars that have had problems in the past and that is something you just do not need to be worrying about in life. I would have chosen something other than a Nissan though (again auto problems).

I did lots of research on the 350Z before I purchased it, including problems.
First off, congratulations on your purchase. I hope you find happiness with it! I do like the way they sound and really considered purchasing one. But for me, the Z was just too foo-foo. I liked the fact that the S was a stripped down go-kart of a car, 4 cylinders, and matched (or exceeded) performance of cars costing 20k more than it did.
To me, It just seems to me like you're going from the frying pan and into the fire. When doing your research, did you happen to reseach tranny problems and not just tire problems?
"MY350Z.com" has FIFTEEN PAGES of people that have had their trannys replaced. Some have had them replaced twice.

3rd post down.
Once again, good luck with your purchase. Come back in a year or so and let us know if you have any problems with the Z. I know you'll be lurking here anyways.

Congrats, personally I like the Z. I may get flammed for this, but looks wise I like the Z better, and the exhaust note is way better. I think they could have done a little better with the conv. model tho. Top down it is great, but it is just plain ugly with the top up.

I actually Traded in My 350z for an S200.The z is a nice car no doubt about it. I had a first year model and there were a few problems with the suspension and window streaks, but that is not why I traded it in. It just didnt thrill me like the S2000 does. Both are nice cars but you have to drive what is best for your self.
