Default Trade-in your S2k for the CR?

With all these rumors swirling about on the S2000 CR, would you consider trading in your S2000 if it had the following specs?

per speedtv: 260-hp, 2500-2600lbs, stiffer chassis, lighter wheels
per cthree: permanent hardtop, white, fr/rear fascia changes, no AC/stereo, no power steering
price: ~$40k (wild guess)

If it's something along those lines, time for me to de-Tracy and de-Mugenize

I hope this doesn't get locked like the other 25 threads.

nah. the permanent hardtop/no ac combo would kill me. first off i dont drive my stook everyday. actually, i only drive it on really nice days. its 7 years old and it's never been in the rain. i'm not really into the car for how fast it is - i love the entire driving experience of it. if i want to go faster, i'll supercharge it, go nuts on the suspension, and buy lightweight wheels. i can even take out the a/c myself if i had to.

as far as body changes, i imagine converting over what we have will be just as easy as doing an AP2 swap, so i'm not concerned about that either.

HOWEVER, i think the new CR is going to be different than the mods you listed, and that has me thinking...

That is basically a track car.
If you are going to use it for anything else it is going to be very uncomfortable.
No AC, no stereo, not able to put the top down.

Besides some of the changes to the actual chassis everything else can be done with aftermarket parts for cheaper.

I fail to understand the point of this car. Buy a 00 or 01 for 15k or less, gut the interior, remove the AC, stereo, soft top and go racing for a lot less.

If I had the choice I'd spend the extra cash on supercharging my S and put a sick suspension on it, then I'd race a CR.

Our cars don't have power sterring, they are electric assisted.

One thing that should be a fact is that the S2000 CR carries a hardtop.

Frankly for 40K, no radio, and no AC I would buy an Ariel Atom. Since I am investing that kind of $$$ for what is basically a track car, I might as well get one of the best.

Besides, I can deform my face at high speeds in the Atom.

Where has Honda posted that?

Huh? Which car are you talking about? My 95 Civic DX with a manual tranny? Or are we talking about our S? The S has always had electric power steering.

Back to topic. I'd get the CR if the specs hold up. If not, I'd keep mine.
