Thanks for this thread. My top is not torn or worn yet and I'd like to avoid the same fate. I plan to at least tape off the sharp edge on the passenger side of the car, then buy some felt this weekend to cover the joint.

Thank you!
Ladies and gentleman this newbie - Neuronbob is a welcome addtion to the S family. He is a very active and wise member of the Acurazine TL and RL forums. Welcome here fellow Buckeye (well I'm a former Ohio resident).

I have a '06 S (18k miles) and just noticed a tear in the exact same place as the OP here. Will be going to the dealership to start the replacement process. Looks like the dremeling and applied protection is a must - so I'll have to figure out what to use.

Question for everyone. I've got a Laguna Blue and would like to replace the top with the OEM blue top - what do you all think? Look good or not?

Not. Blue top only works on white.

Same thing happened to me:

I circled the sharp part that cut the top in red.

UPDATE: I took it to the dealer, and they replaced the top and frame under warranty.

It looks like the work was all done correctly, so I guess I got a newer top for the trouble.

My 07 S2000 has the same wear shown in the pics. No cut yet, but it will with time. It only has 8k miles on it. I bought it used and is Honda Certified. I printed out the TSB and will take the car to the dealer tomorrow. I hope to get the top replaced. I hope they will not make me wait until there is a cut before they fix it.

The design will never be changed - you gotta go in there with a dremel. I did the top repair myself so I took the repair slowly - dremeled EVERYTHING that could be thought of as "sharp" and reinstalled the top.
