Topdown Fail

I've occasionally lost a receipt or two out of the car when flying down the highway at 80mph. My best situation yet, though, I managed not to lose anything (although I almost did): I was moving out of my apartment, and had to go get a bunch of cardboard boxes at home depot. I had them sitting against the seat back of the passenger seat, with some stuff in front so that they wouldn't fall over or take off into the air, because they were too tall for me to close the top. So I'm getting onto the highway, and accelerating past 70mph, and apparently I didn't do a good enough job securing them in the seat as one took off, flew across the console and HIT ME IN THE FACE, blocking my view. Somehow I managed to catch the box and get it out of my face without hitting anything, or losing it out of the car. Needless to say, next time I'm taking back roads instead of the highway

In college, the commuter parking permit blew out on the highway. Went to get a replacement. "How much is it if I lost my permit?" "Sixty five dollars." "How much if it was stolen?" "Fifteen." "Someone stole my permit..."

I lost a GPS unit taking a u-turn faster than garmin envisioned...
I thought it just fell on the floor when I heard a noise so I didn't bother to stop or look around. When I arrived at my destination I realized what had happened.

120 KPH is a normal highway speed...
I consider anything not weighted down, wedged into something, or stored away expendable once the top goes down. Fortunately only receipts and maybe a gum wrapper have escaped. The wife said no to taking the cat out for a cruise

I try not to keep anything in the cabin that I would miss should it fly away while the top was down. As of now, the only thing that tends to get caught by the wind are my hats. I tend to slouch a bit to minimize the chances of a hat flying off.
