Default Top won't go down fully

I inherited a s2000 a few days ago, and had a problem putting the top down recently. After initially getting the car I put the top down with no problems, but yesterday I went to put it down and it went all the way until the last foot or so and stopped. It's just to the point of blocking the rear view mirror to give you an idea. I couldn't find anything lodged in the back where it folds up that would be doing this, motor sounds fine...

Any idea what I could look for/do? I'm stressed about the whole thing.

If it was very cold, sometimes the top does not go down all the way.

I bought the straps but haven't had time to install them yet, lol. Definitely RaggTopp is the way to go, too

Straps only take ten minutes to install. Very easy and well worth the investment.

make sure the convertible top is well lubricated with some sort of vinyl protectant. I use 303 aerospace protectant. Without it, the top does have some problems getting "caught" on each other.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm gonna wait for it to get a little warmer, should see some warm weather in the coming weeks. If it still isn't working I'll replace the straps as suggested.
