Top up or top down on the track
I will be lapping Buttonwillow tommorow
Kind of a stupid question - but which would give you better times; top up or down?
Thanks.

I did my first lap with the top up and did the rest with the top down. Most other convertibles had the top down, I think 1 boxster had the top up. On PIR with the festival curves up you may top out at 115 so the top being down is just funner.

definately top up for less wind resistance. I've noticed quite a difference just driving around town and on the freeway, my car feels a little sluggish with the top down. But that's just my opinion.

I have to agree with Chris. He and I have been on some of the same tracks and on a fast straight you will definitely notice that you can get more speed when you run top up. However, I also have to agree that it is more fun, if that's what you are going for, to run top down.

For car performance, especially at higher speeds, the top up would be desired. For driver performance, you can see better w/ the top down. Which is more important to you?
