Do you really believe a stock S (a supercharged S for that matter) will do 170 miles per hour

I think so considering I've had mine to 147MPH and still pulling. My MY01 is NA. SC would probably definetly go that fast. By the way, my car still felt pretty secure on the road at that speed

negative, but according to your previous post your top speed in 6th is 139mph.. it just seems odd that top of 6th is 139 when SEVERAL s2ki members have pulled over 140 in this car.

Write me a letter when you hit 170 mph. Keep in mind these things are aerodynamically challenged past 150 mph. It would take a lot more power to the wheels than what a stock S puts to the wheels to compensate for the aero deficincy.

150-155 is top speed for a stock S. I have heard reports of UP to 160 with a supercharged S.

MY03, 9,200 miles. This was done with 6k on motor.

When I first maxed out my S, it would not go faster than 134mph. After doing this about 5-6 times, it will do 139 mph. Keep in mind it takes a lot of real estate to get these things wound up. You do realize the S isn't a Dodge Viper

I can "cruise" (country road.....both hands on the wheel) comfortably at 90 in 3rd without redlining.

with rear tire size, final gear ratios and max rpm, it is just a matter of crunching the numbers.

Jeepers.

There are two aspects to top speed. 1) Gearing. 2) Power and aerodynamics.

Using Reverends calculator posted above, you can find out the gearing limitations.

Using a test track, you can find out the areo limitation. For 1st through 5th, aerodynamics has no factor. For 6th, it's generally accepted to be somewhere around 150 to 155, I think.
