This is *definitely* just a hunch...but I'm suspecting the tow hook must be installed prior to installing the front bumper as a whole. Why? Well, the tow hook would be installed under "normal" instances simply by screwing it in. However, with this bumper's design, there is only a slit/slot. Therefore, I'd assume you must install the tow hook first, then attach the bumper 2nd. Course the alternative would be, don't install the tow hook when you mount the bumper. Ahem, then when you find you needed it
I agree. The hook must be put on before the bumper. I'd rather just go for the look and stash the hook in the trunk. You can always just use your rear hook when your getting onto a flatbed or whatever. Wonder why they couldn't take that extra step and insert a small hole and just plug it up?

You got *that* right!!! Beats the hell outta me. Do all that sweet design work, then leave a $2 slit in the bumper soz you can permanently slot out a rusty-a$$ tow-hook [okay, soz ya paint the hook...big diff, it'd still be less than appealling for a street ride]...

I mean don't get me wrong, I LOVE slits, they just don't look good in this situation. Surprisingly.

The Top Secret front bumper is a special order item - we carry it but it takes 14 business days to fabricate and readied before shipping from Japan. The tow hook is a one-off thing from Top Secret and not for sale. Please contact us if you're interested in Top Secret parts.
