If that pic wasw taken by a dealership, they may not be familiar with having to push the bar back.

Yea it was taken at a dealer. Perhaps this could be used to bargain for a lower price if they don't know its an easy fix? That's if the one I choose has this problem.

By middle bar do you guys mean where the top curves just above the rear window??

If you look at the bars while folding down your top, you'll see the bar that is supposed to slide back as you lower the top, push that bar back with you hand.

One thing i would add is that a newer top won't fold down nearly as
compact as one that has a few years on it. The material needs some
time to "learn" how to bend in all the right places for it to go down as
far as it can.

I was really frustrated with it when I first got my S and saw everyone
else with older cars and their tops down way further than mine. But
with time, mine goes down as far as theirs does now.

modifry fix is pretty easy. i've just done it recently and it definitely helps.
