When did you went to the strip. You should have sent me a PM buddy. I was itching to go to the strip again, but I don't want to go alone (none of my friends are free). If this is your first time to the strip, 14.6 is an OK number. You'll get better at it and your car will be a little faster as milage piles up. I got 14.6 when my stook was at 1K miles, I went back with around 5K miles on the odo, and i got a 14.2 and 14.1.

Since i have about the same drag racing experience as Jay Li...

I think the different tracks make it pretty difficult to compare #'s.

I couldn't get a decent launch (6500rpm spun way too much, and 5500rpm bogged on my first run), so I never did get a decent '60 time. My best run was 14.3XX and worst with a misshift was 14.7

I was hoping for 13's, but never got out of the gates very cleanly, so for you guys who don't have actual time slips...........

When OneQuickS2K said you need to learn to drive your car, I thought he was going to recommend a driving school. A driving school is what I need to do.

I don't think I'll ever try 1/4 miles. If I do, I'll do it in a rented Vette or a borrowed Viper. I'm glad guys do, but it isn't for this old fogie.

I did try zero to 60 on an open stretch of unoccupied, closed to through traffic (by snow drifts) 2 lane. I used my standard shifting and never broke ten seconds.

I do want to learn how to push the envelope this car was designed to handle. That kind of learning will get me to the top of Granite Pass with more confidence and safety than I do now.

Guess the ITR and s2000 are closer than some are willing to admit eh?

I just don't have the guts to try it. I live vicariously through you guys. Although, I might be tempted, I have almost 8,000 miles on mine. How much does it cost, and how do you go about setting it up.

steve c, I wouldn't say the ITR is really all that close to the S2000, because my driving doesn't represent the best of what an S2000 can do. In fact, I'm probably below average, considering it was my first time ever doing it.

sonne, I think every wednesday Gateway has a test and tune night, and I would try to arrive around 5:30-6:00 PM. It's 15 bucks, and you can make as many runs as you can fit in (depends on the number of cars there). If there's more interest, we can all go down there sometime, or just try to have a STL meet in general.
