i've got one guess as to why someone would put accord wheels that don't fit and a dual civic looking exhuast.

so they can sell the real s2000 wheels and exhuast aftermarket.. or put them on their next car.. or maybe the owners taste was just that bad.

My guess is that he had stock wheels - sold em, bought aftermarket - kept or sold them, then got the accord wheels on the cheap.

This is a perfect example of the old adage, "Some people have more money than sense."

I agree. He tried to rice it up and sold all the stock parts ie wheels, airbox, stereo etc then his parenrs would not let him live in the basement watching voyager reruns all day and kicking the piss out of the car all night so he had to sell it. one question i assume the boast guage was not hooked up to anyhing or was it moving when the car was started.. Could they hook it up to the intake to have it at least monitor pressure there or is it just for show. and those are accord coupe 16 wheels. Also the honda dealer probably wanted nothing to do with it so he brought to a used lot. they dont have a chance selling it for over 25 unless another rice boy and his parents come in there.

Man I can't believe people ruin S2K's like this...they should be shot! Either that or forced to ride around in a Ford Focus the rest of their lives.

23,500 miles is a full 2 years of abuse. You can estimate about 12,000 miles a year as average wear and tear. I'd check the VIN to see what month it was made and then add at least 1 month for delivery. Then you could estimate how long it was actually owned.

Whats the longest someone could have owned a 2000 model? 16 months? I'd say based on mileage alone you could assume its not in the best of condition. The gauges either indicate the engine was supercharged at 1 point (and removed to sell seperately- leaving you with more wear than your average N-Aspirated S2K) or the previous owner was young and wanted it to look tough- meaning its probably been trashed.

By comparison I have 5000 miles on my 2000MY S2K. Ok, not really 5000, 4750 miles. Mine was made in March, 2000 and purchased by me in May 2000. Thats why I keep an old '90 Celica beater around with nearly 200,000 miles on it...to do the little trips. For longer trips we use the '99 Camry and for weekend fun I take the S2000.

That car was driven a minimum of 50 miles a day. Likely much more because I doubt it was delivered in January to the owner (could be, but I doubt it). When did 2000 models ship anyway? And by the looks of it, it was a teeny bopper and probably had about as many years experience driving a clutch as the car has liters

Definitely too bad to be true...

-B

i have to agree with everyone else. the car has probably been abused, but....if you could get them to sell for 20k-22k, it would probably make a great race car. the abuse dealt to it would be fixed with an engine rebuild, which isnt a big deal if the car is going to be a track queen. that really is a shame that someone would do that to this car.

maybe just me...i didn't see what was so butchered about it, besides the useless gauges. but that's just trim.

i have 25k on my car. i live 2 miles from work and drive about 1.5k per month. is that abuse or love?
