Default Titanium Shift Knobs

1. Does the OEM Ti shift knob sit lower like the Skunk2 Countersunk Ti knob does? The pictures from Honda look like the case (the bottom of the knob sits inside the bag), but it was hard to tell from the pictures in the Gallery forum.

2. Are the treads on the Skunk2 Ti knob made of metal? I hate it when treads are made of plastic -- like Razo -- cuz I've broken one of those before (the inside plastic just cracked).

3. Is the Skunk2 Ti knob darker than the OEM Ti knob in person? The pictures seem to be the case ...

4. Where can I buy a Skunk2 Ti knob?

Basically I like the OEM Ti knob a lot, but would like it to sit lower.

Thanks.

Edit: Looks like I messed up. Skunk2 is not titanium, but its weight is at least that of the OEM Ti, which is good.

I'll try to answer some of them.

1. The OEM is NOT countersunk.

2. Don't know.

3. No, it's actually very hard to tell the OEM Aluminum apart from the OEM Titanium other than the weight.

4. Search on ebay, froogle, etc.

Not sure if i am mistaken or you are but skunk2 doesn't make a Titanium knob.

they make the good ole' 440g knob, 10 annversity "gunmetal" color knob

1)oem are not countersunk, skunk2's knob is not countersunk but the threads on S2 goes up pretty deep. I have both, they both seat around the same, give an take couple of mm

2)All skunk2's knob are machine threaded AKA metal thread

3) again, the newer design 10 ann. version have different lasered logo and darker gun metal color

4)there's a seller on honda-tech.com i got mine for 40 shipped.

just to throw in some perspective since i have both.

Skunk2 is heavier, the shape is almost like oem

skunk2 gunmetal is darker

Skunk2 knob, the letter on top is red, it's been know for striping

the surface texture is slightly different from oem

I LOVE MY SKUNK2 KNOB
