nast was the GTP you raced red? I had a really good friend running a red 2000 gtp that put down a 12.65 run in the 1/4 here in vegas. I haven't talked ot him since like early summer of 01 since he moved out to your area. When he lived here the car looks completly stock except for a powered by pontiac sticker on the windsheild just so ricer civic kids would see it and try to race him thinking it was some slow family sedan and the car would just rape them. I know he took the stickier off before he moved. If it was him you shouldn't feel to bad about getting beat. He spent every cent he had on that car. I had no idea what he had in there but man that thing was a beast.

GTP = 0 to 60 in 6.8 seconds = really fast???????????????
Maybe you picked this up from Motor Trend, Car & Driver, or Road & Track. One of the really, insert sarcasim, accurate periodicals we have to choose from depicting 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. I promise you the GTP is not in the 6's. Go drive on for yourself and you will see.

Take for instince Motor Trend. They claim the MY00 S2000 ran a 1/4 mile of 13.8. Buahahahahah. Sure. Maybe if you want to be replacing your clutch every few thousand miles.

And no, 6.8 is not really fast.

My brother in law had a 97 GTP, and I must say I wasn't impressed with its acceleration at all. I will admit I never drove it (because I never had the urge to) but I was with him several times where he punched it at a stoplight and it just didn't seem very fast -- instead it felt rather sluggish off the line. Don't they weigh like 3500 lbs?
