learn to launch.....they might get you in first....second ya catch up and third ya pass.......Get ready for the flames....this should be in street encounter......This forum doesn't take street racing lightly....
you'd get a better response in street encounters! except for c-5
no chance ...ss ls-1 will get ya most of the time. depends on how much boost in the wrx! Its a roadster.......start spraying...get a s/c
or turbo.....or hit the twistys or a circuit track and you'll be in your own little section of heaven

Nastinupe,
Do you split firewood with your steak knives?
Two suggestions for you.
1. Don't expect to be able to drag race and win against LS1 equipped cars. C5 Corvettes and LS1 Camaros are faster stock for stock. You will lose in most cases. Your only chance at any sort of respectable performance is to get an awesome launch against a mediocre one and then hold on as they come charging up on you.
2. Learn how to drive - this is not a flame, just a strong recommendation. I can respect getting beaten by a modded WRX. They'll cream you on the launch even bone stock. With more hp they can hold on to that advantage. The Mustang, well, its a driver's race, which isn't looking good for you. As for the Grand Prix GT (not even the supercharged model!) and the Acura CL-S, well, your driving stinks. Even if they jumped you on the start, you should have come romping by very quickly (been there, done that and I was in the CL-S6 and the S2K didn't even launch very hard).
I have to say that I'm pretty surprised you still own the S2K, and that its still stock. Might I suggest a turbo kit?

sorry to say, but you are really in the wrong car to be racing from a dead stop. if you can get someone to go from a rolling start in first, it's a whole different deal. otherwise, don't feel so bad because it's apples and oranges.

I have done the freeway thing. And it works.... ha ha ha. I thought that I was the only one who did that. I usually drive 55 until some punk comes along and tries to F with me. I have never lost racing from 55-75 mph on the freeway (Other than getting killed by a Viper and a C5). It's just the take off races that kills me. And I know how to shift folks. I have never driven a manual in my life, even on my licensing test when I was 16. Also, those CL-S are no punks. 260 hp V6, plus they have the torque to help them with the take off. And the pontiac was a grand prix GTP, which has a 3.8 liter 240 hp V6 engine with 280 lbs of torque. I believe that that is some serious competition.
