if it's not illegal for you to do it, by all means. i would if our cars didn't attract so much attention from the CHiPs.

I tinted my red car to help with heat rejection. Like Muz showed, the car looks great from the side, but a little funny from the rear 3/4 view because the clear rear window and tinted side windows can be seen together. I wouldn't do it strictly for looks, but it does help a lot in our sub-tropical summer.

After having several cars tinted down here, I can only recommend 3M tinting. The warrantee is from the manufacturer (unlike most others) and it is a top quality product. It's guaranteed not to bubble, peel, discolor, fade or change color for as long as you own the car.

I saw an aging Rustang convertible yesterday with all its windows tinted. The plastic rear window was a "beautiful tobacco brown". I hope our rear windows fair better over the long haul.

I thought the S2K was meant to be driven with the top down when the weather was good. You mean to say you Australians, Floridians and Texas actually put the top up and crank up the A/C? What a bunch of wimps! (I jest of course!)

It takes like 30 seconds to cool the car in the worst part of the summer here (small cockpit!), so I guess I don't understand why tinting is necessary. Maybe on a larger car with lots of windows (like my Accord), but on the S2k? Nah....

If tinted windows keep me from burning imprints of gears 1-6+R in my hand during the summer months, I'm all for it.

Has anyone researched the possibility of making an aftermarket tinted rear window? It would seem like pre-tinted plastic would be available, although I couldn't find any information on it.

My rear window is creased something awfull, so I'm going to have it replaced anyway.

Tinting would look strange IMHO with the rear window remaining clear.

Plus, with it tinted how can you smile back at all the hotties?
