This time it WAS the differential...
Ok, we talked to topic to death 3 weeks ago, exactly three weeks ago, so tonight's story is short.
The differential is gone, busted a hole and crack all through the diff housing. Differential fluid all over the road, pieces of housing too. Wheels locked up, couldn't even push it off the road. The tow truck had to drag the car onto the bed. When we got it home the wheels loosened up and we rolled it off, lots of clunking. Looks like I need to order one of these:
exploded view of Kaaz differential
This is the exact same thing that happened to Comptech. They stuck the Kaaz in because they had it sitting around, and they rebuilt their housing...need to give them a call - I wonder if they make housecalls.
Is this going to stop me from racing? No! Well, yes, until the backend of my car is upgraded - diff and axles (no decent axles available).
So we shot a hole in my theory that it was the sticky track, because this was on the street. 7,000 RPM launch + Comptech SC + ACT HD Pressure plate and street disk = trouble. Just be glad you're not the "pionoeer".
Don't feel pity for me, I'm doing this on my own free will. I'm posting simply so that others can be warned.

Wes knows what chances he is taking beforehand and is willing to take the consequences. That being said, I don't see it as cruelty I see it as having enough balls to enjoy the car the way HE chooses to.

Wes: Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but thanks for sharing!
I'm glad we have pioneers that are willing to try different things and share the results. Someone had to try the first SC, and someone had to break the first SC, and now we've all learned something...

I just miss out on all the fun. On Friday, you all get tickets for no front license plates and now this..
That's it. Next week, I'm going!
You are definately doing the pioneering for the rest of us.

man sorry to hear about that.. at least you got to enjoy your stook for a two nights of draggin before it went back under the knife.
man, sure are alot of critics.. if people don't think the car is made for straight line performance as well.. and just handling.. why not purchase a miata? would of saved them some $ if all they wanted was handling.
hmm.. maybe its cause they like the car itself.. sure we could buy out of the box straight line cars that are faster.. but the stook is obviously the weapon of choice.
