Heh...down here I know exhibition of acceleration (Which is probably equivalent to what you have) is about $125. If its a first offense, then you might get off.

Be glad he didn't give you a ticket for speeding as well.

If you weren't ticketed for speeding or going over the speed limit - it's probably easier to defend.

The car looks fast, it sounds fast, you were just accelerating up to the speed limit... Hopefully, the officer does not show.

When you go to court, ask them to direct you to the speed exhibition permit dept.

I got one of these before too. Evidently you can also get in trouble not just for how fast your going, but how fast you get there. If anyone gets this permit thing worked out, let me know, I'm pretty sure I need one.

Alright...wake me up to reality, please. Are those of you on this thread suggesting that, when I pull away (1st at a stoplight, etc.) F-A-S-T...but kick it down just short of breaking the speed limit on that particular road...I can still receive a ticket?!!! Wow...that's honestly a new one on me.

Evil Knievel would've had these permits. Also, speeding on a race track would be "authorized". Have you ever heard of fire trucks, police cars, ambulances & other such "emergency" vehicles? These are "authorized" to exhibit speed.
Hey! You asked!
