Throttle position relation to VTEC

Default Throttle position relation to VTEC

I know there are certain requirements that need to be met before vtec would kick in (rpm, oil pressure), but I always thought that you also had to be above a certain amount of throttle. If I were to accelerate very slowly like even less then 10% I would still hear the vtec switch over and my VAFC2 would turn red indicating vtec is on. Is there some setting on the VAFC2 that I might have made wrong for vtec to kick in even at that low of throttle. Or does it have nothing to do with throttle position?

when i was stock and went above 6k rpm with light throttle i would "hear" VtaK, but didn't "feel" it.

its not like i-vtec where the if youre not wot it wont engage. i believe it engages either way once it hits the crossover. our cars run on traditional vtec.

you can tune it to be throtle sensitive with emanage, VAFC or AEM EMS

How can you do it with the vafc2? I've looked but didn't find anything.
