Default To those with Vented Hoods

Hey guys, I know this is kinda a stupid question but I really like all the CF vented hoods for the S2k but my car is a daily driver and I'm afraid of rain and dirt slipping through the vents onto my nice clean engine. Does anyone have this problem. Or do most of you with vented hoods just dont drive your car when the weather is looking flaky. I was just curious cause I know some hoods let water get through which can sometimes be sucked up causing the motor to hydro lock. Thanks again for all the help

Which hood are you getting?

The only thing the J's leaks onto is the air box. Who cares about the airbox?

I haven't had any problems so far (knock on wood) and I've driven through some pretty bad storms. I have the j's style w/ INJEN CAI. I have noticed that I seem to have more dirt and small rocks accumulating under the hood though.

I have the J's hood and I have also gotten water in the stock intake box upon washing it for the first time. I have experienced a car with Hydrolock, so I didnt want to go though it again. I took a peice of sheetmetal and siliconed it to the underside (leaving a small opening on the drivers side to drain out). It makes the scoop stand out more and keeps water out of it. Took $10 in parts tops to do this.

I would love to see a pic Quik S2k. I am partial to the top secret and mugen hood. I would probably get the Top secret or the Feels No Duct hood. Thanks for all the advice

I use low adhesive masking tape (blue in color) to cover up the vents while washing. Maybe you can do the same during a big storm. I have the J's style hood.
