Default For those with Synthetic oil!

What type of filter do you use? Are there specific filters for synthetic oil or can I use Honda's? I'm switching to Mobile I on Thursday. Thanks.

I've been using dumb old Honda filters with Mobil 1 and I'm pleased to report that my engine has not blown up yet. That's two oil changes with that combination and 5000 miles of experience FWIW.

The general consensus is that the stock Honda filter is the one to use.

Mobil 1 filters are some of the best, but you pay for it.

Check out this great link about what oil filters to buy (Mobil 1) and which one's are prone to breaking and totally screwing up your car (Fram).

Nice info here. I'm glad this guy did all this.

I use Amsoil Series 2000 0W-30 oil and amsoil SDF36 filter. The filter is not the standard short filter shown in the Amsoil book, but a longer one that fits just fine.

It's time for an oil change in my '00, and the local Honda dealership tells me that American Honda recommends non-synthetic 10w30 Mobil 1.

Any suggestions?
