the roof front trim pieces are 3m adhesive tape. used to cover the paint at front of hardtop where rubber weatherstrip at top of windshield touches. it is to prevent the weatherstrip from rubbing off the paint. the "front roof trim" can be bought and replaced seperately.

I was asking this exact question recently on this forum as I bought a used hardtop, but no one replied with the right answer. All I have is a small rubber piece along the base front of the hardtop roof liner that sits vertically. I could not locate those two pieces indicated in the hardtop diagram. I used the parts diagram at majestic honda's website to locate the parts. I don't think there is any such clear tape on my hardtop, all I see is painted metal on the horizontal surface, and a small rubber piece on the vertical roof liner section at the very front. The clear tape sounds like a good thing to have, I've got to look into this further myself.
On this diagram above it refers you to page 20-61, might want to check there on how it installs, might give you more insight into the parts. I wonder why they have two parts though ?, are they two strips that run side by side ?. Thanks for bringing this up and for all of the replies thus far.

just looked at the installation page in the fsm for those parts and they are two pieces of tape that get applied on the two different stepped levels of metal at the front of the hardtop, they are clearly identified in the fsm.
