For those with gears, dyno in 3rd or 4th?
My last thread was a tooss up no conclusive answer so heres a new one just one question, 3rd or 4th with gears?
I'm sure I can do both but just in case i only get to do it one gear which one?

The same as if you didn't have gears. Which I believe in your last post came out to be 3rd gear.
If you want the dyno numbers for yourself for comparison it won't matter one bit as long as you do the same gear each time.
But if your looking to impress others, which is what I get from you posting this question than higher numbers will be in 3rd so do third.

I was always under the impression that it was 4th gear... thats what it always was on my integra because it was closest to a 1 to 1 ratio. I haven't read the other thread on this so I don't know how reliable my answer is

According to my calculations, if you view the AP2 transmission as a whole unit and take the secondary reduction gear into account, the gear that's closest to 1:1 is 6th. (0.92:1, as opposed to 5th's 1.14:1.)
And if you disregard the secondary reduction gear, 5th is closer to 1:1 than any other gear. (0.942:1 vs 4th's 1.161:1.)
In other words, disregard anything about using a gear close to 1:1.
