hotengdude,

Well, I'm still Running In the S2k, havent really push it yet. So I cant really comment here. But no matter what car you drive, there will be some one there that will dust you.

In Australia, we're lucky enough to have Lancer Evolution....these are fast cars and will definitely blow most cars on the road, anytime. And as a ex-owner, I dont believe S2k will come close in straight line, But I DO believe that if it's on a track (not dragstrip), S2k would probably win. As turbo-charged cars get hot after a few laps and performancewise is greatly affected. While S2k is NA, thus better if the run is longer. Also RWD kick ass on track.

This is a few of the cars that I have been blown away by: anIS300, Audi A4 1.8T, around a 1990 firebird and a freaking Mazda Mx6.

I have had sports cars all my life and I am a good driver and a good shifter.

I agree, Naturally Aspirated is a beautiful thing, if you can hack it. Own a car that can push the limits without help, and you have yourself a gem. Sell it, and be condemned to Hell for your transgression!!!

One day I hope to have the fundage for a trip out west to www.cobbtuning.com to have my Subaru twisted and pulled to death, only to be reborn as an NA monster. New block parts... cylinder heads... cams.... stiffening bits..... brakes.... wheels.... clutch work.....

Okay I have to stop now. See, cars like the WRX STi are beautiful indeed, but..... personally? If I ever have the money... I'd keep my RS as my project car, and buy another Honda product to go alongside. Be it an S2k or an RSX Type-R or .... I dunno.

Plus, the 2.5 engine in the RS has a lot more low-end than any of the EJ20/2.0 or 2.2L stuff like the WRX or STi. A nice perk. Just takes some work to get it to hold up to added power.

The S2000 is meant for drivers to have the top down, a twisty mountain road ahead of them and no other people for miles around, so they can just blast down that mountain road and feel the car and them become one, become the TRUE ultimate driving machine. It is NOT and never WAS designed for straight line acceleration (well, I'll bend on that point, it IS a sports car, but no McLaren) and it is meant to be DRIVEN. Driving usually involves taking corners, if you're an expert driver then maybe, MAYBE a few drift turns.

Then again, I don't own one, so what the hell do I know

This is absolutely beautiful man, Bravo!

Now, to the point .

The S2K is no Drag Queen, so if you want to make it one you'll have to redo the whole damn car (or get a turbo ). If you're not into doing that then at the very least you must "drive it like you stole it". I read an article in one of the top car-mags that said they got the car 0-60 in 5 seconds flat by trying to hurt it, dropping the clutch @ extremely high rpm's and not lifting off the throttle when shifting to 2nd, but when they launched it normal (like from 3,500 rpm) the 0-60 went to almost 7 seconds .

These are the facts, do with them what you will.

hey man...if you really want to get rid of your S2000 ...and dont want to heavily mod a car
get yourself a 2000 GT and supercharge it! I know a lot of you guys hate the stangs but they
really are great cars! With this set up on the stang youre looking at 345 horses and even more torque
check out Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine(the issue with the mustang painted with the american flag on the front) it has an excellent article on the setup
personally id stay with the car you have...but if you want straightline quarter mile speed, id go V8
