thieves and s2k's
hey guys
well here is the reason for my post. I'm a currently a intergra owner so I'm a paranoid person(cause of it being the number 1 stolen car and i have too much money put in it) when it comes to leaving my car anywhere in parking lots malls ect. I feel better when its safe in the garage
Whats is ur experience about thieves breaking in ur cars or stealing cars ect. i haven't personally heard of any s2000 being stolen. The s2000 I'm gonna buy is gonna be my daily driver. I have a breater right now that i take everywhere but i have to get rid of that to get the s2000.
i cant really drive integra everyday except to the track and meets or cruising
i just want this car to be in the same place when i come out of the mall or the movies
i might have the s2k tomorrow as long as everything goes good...
thanks in advance

The biggest and most effective theft deterrant you can have is not to be and idiot. I.e. watch where and how you part, but reality is the frequency of s2000 thefts is very low.

well from what I hear the best way to prevent your S2K from being stolen is the fortify your ECU.

Best defense is just to insure the hell out of it, and just relax. If they want it, they'll take it, and the more you do to keep them away means they'll do more damage in the attempt.
I have lojack - there are a lot of stories about the cops recovering the car with teh thief inside. Ask yourself whether you want the car back if it's boosted, though, or whether you'd rather take the insurance money and just replace it.
Seat theft is very common - it's actually a best case scenario, since generally the only damage done is a slashed top and missing seats, both of which are easily replaced. Insurance should cover it all, and you're not going to take any serious depreciation on the car. The thief won't know about seat locks until your top is already slashed and he's liable to do a lot of damage trying to get boost the seats and is liable to slash your seats out of spite if he's unsuccessful.

hardtop provides Zero additional protection if someone wants to break in. If anything it provides them with an expensive, easy to steal component.
