The White could be one of our friends, the black (if it had a really loud exhaust) could have been smccury from this board. How much longer are you in town? Maybe rstark, smcurry and I could hook up with you...?

Already left Hawai'i. I was there for over a week. Crappy weather...that's life. I came back to the same in Phoenix! Raining here too.

I'll be back in a couple months hopefully. Maybe I will catch you guys then, although I will probably hit Maui and stay away from the tourist traps on O'ahu. Only went to O'ahu because my cousin played against UH in a basketball game. She played well, but we got thrashed by 20 points.

Now, just waiting for my tickets to show up in the mail in about 5 months. You know beauracracy at its best... After the state sends the rental car company the tickets (for owning the car), the rental car company sends in the letter that they weren't driving back to the state with my name and address on the statement, the state reads it (typically 4 weeks after that) and sends me a few tickets to pay for their new toyota sienna vans...

Read the latest Car and Driver (feb 2002) on the flight back. Good editorial about Mesa, AZ photo radar. It is a BASHING. Most of the cities here use photo radar (Phoenix, Tempe, Chandler, and of course Mesa). C/D blasts the system and the costs

I can finally report that the K40 Laser diffuser appears to work! I was cruising along on the H-1 and as I rounded the corner in Pearl City, the warning beeper started sounding. I saw a motorcycle cop on the edge of the road. I got the car slowed from about 67 to 60 or so, and then the beeping stopped, only to start again. Either he didn't get a speed reading, or I wasn't going fast enough to warrant chasing me down. At least the buzzer worked when hit by police laser. I found this very encouraging since I've never had a beep from a camera van, so I can assume that they never tried to target me! I just hope they didn't shoot me in the back tonight since I flew by one again on H-1!

(To those in Hawaii): Did you see the news last night? There were 2 masked guys who brought a big white sheet and was blocking the view of the camera van from the vehicles
On the sheet they wrote "Go bruddah GO!!" Even the camera operator seemed to be laughing.
