Wish I had the monies to buy a new one.

I'd look for a CR without A/C and radio. There is one with 3K miles for like 25K. Talk about a future classic... especially if its GPW.

Wow damn that's crazy. So I wonder how much we will get back on our cars in 10 years.

I don't think you'll get much, unless you've got a low milesage, late model year, and preferably a CR with those qualities. And GPW will definitely help.

I think we may be looking further out than just 10 years as far as appreciation goes. Also, my belief is that while the GPW CR is quite rare, I doubt it will be the S2k that appreciates most. White is just generally not the most desirable color for a sports car.

All in all though, I say invest elsewhere if you want to make some money. Properly picked stocks will probably offer a better return after adjustment for inflation. Over ten years I would be willing to be a lot of real estate may even be a better bet. But, if you want an amazing car to drive, pickup a nice condition S2K while you still somewhat easily can.

What I meant was that the ones that will hold their value the most would be the ones that fit the criteria I listed, while only being half-serious about the GPW part.

But even then, I don't think they'll still be worth much 10 years from now. There were just too many S2000s sold. If your plan is to make money (which I doubt is what anyone here was really planning... hopefully), this car is definitely not the best way to do it.

Real estate is a horrible investment these days. Prices will be going down for the next 15-20 years just like in Japan, look it up.
