I have owned an 01, 02, and now 04, and I think I like the 04 the most. It is a toss up between the 04 and 02. The 01 had the plastic window, carpet center console(which is easily fixed by Rick), and it lacked the tweeters. Plus the suspension upgrades. I only traded up for the window. I hate the plastic so much. I had a Wrangler that had a plastic rear window, and it was even worse. The glass looks cleaner. I have no idea why Honda did not do that in the first place. There is no excuse for it. I think they said something about weight saving

Unfortunately, Honda knuckled under to the cries of owners who were unable or unwilling to take some simple steps to clean up the plastic window, to keep it clean and to protect it. Those of us who have taken these steps have no complaints. True, the plastic does not provide a crystal clear view through itself as does the smaller glass window. However, most of us have also learned to use the outside rearview mirrors to greater advantage and to interpret what we see out the plastic.
With the exception of having no defroster, I found driving my first winter with no hardtop, to be quite manageable. In some ways, I find that tiny little glas window to be a bit comical. I certainly do not hold it against Honda for putting this car out with a plastic window nor would I ever lust for a newer car just because it has a glass window. To each their own, I guess.

Read the comments of the guys with their different MY's. Then decide for yourself which model satisfies you most. You really can't go wrong. As has been said - they're all goooood!
get it and cruise with attitude

also how can I find out if my car made the cutoff when they began using the 4 oil bolts as opposed to the 2,
thanks

The engine number is posted in Barry WY's short block thread, slauncher. You have to look at the engine block in your S (visible without moving anything).
I don't know it off the top of my head, but mine is 6006 and I know mine has the bolts. It started shortly before that.
