They've all got issues... but then again, so does every other make/model.

I'd suggest you just find a well maintained version, regardless of the year, and make sure all recall and TSB work has already been done.

I own a MY00 and everyone says that that's the year to avoid, however, I didn't really have any problems with my car. I say just get what you can afford, but if you can, get a MY01 if you want the 9000 RPM. That was before they put the cheesy silver accents on the car and messed up the rims by giving them a gold tent. They MY00 and MY01 rims have a straight 100% silver color while the MY02's and MY03's have a goldish tent to them.

the bronze tint on the wheels aren't that noticable and i happen to like the silver accents, looks better than straight black.

but who cares about appearance. the most important thing is that the mid02-03 f20c's got the new 4-hole oil jet bolts.

just my 2 cents.

I have an '00 and it's been good to me. I got it new and wouldn't think of parting with it. If I were buying a used one now I'd get the '02 or later. You get the glass window, clock, and other minor upgrades and fixes that go along with getting a new model a few years into it's run.

I forgot about the glass window. The top is always down. Sorry. Ok... well get the MY03 and then buy the MY00 rims.
