Default Was there ever an AUTO offered for the S2000?

I just remembered that i read an article while back stating that an "4spd or 5spd" auto would be offered.
Not that i would but i was wondering if it was ever realized.

If an automatic S2000 comes out, that would kill just about one of the only cars out there that you can only get a manual trans. in.

Hell, BMW will put an auto. in just about all of their cars..

I could see the next gen s2's having a tiptronic system. Dont know if i like the idea or not, but it seems that all the exotics are going that route. You never know...

Hopefully next generation will offer SMG rather than tiptronic system. In fact the S2000 was originally planned to have a sequential shift system ( I believe test models were equipped with it). Read it in Carney's book.
