Is there an approved roll bar that doesn't have
Is tehre an approved roll bar for track events that doesn't have that horizontal
member between the factory roll hoops and the back of the seats?
I'm 6 feet tall and would absolutely hate it to loose the few inches of seat travel.
So far, all the pics of roll bars I've seen has that horizontal bar, ofcourse I know
it's part of the design, just wondering if there are ones that doesn't have that
horizontal bar.
Thanks,
Jimmy

Look into the Elda Engineering Bar
It's still got the bars, but they are removeable, and elda's site says it only
loses 2 clicks on the recline when seat all the way back.
What about the Cusco bar?
Tks,

the bar that you are talking about is called a harness bar. that is where you connect the upper portion of the racing harness to. your other option is to get a hardtop if you dont want to lose any space.. btw, i heard from a grapevine for the 05 season the s2000 can be eligible to run the track with just the factory rollbar. dont qoute me on this though. you may want to call your local track and ask them if they heard such things.. ive heard it from a guy that is running the gingerman events..

I went with the Elda, it's structually a better design and it doesn't go all the way down to the floor like the Cusco. It rests on the back pane.
Pardon me, but what is the back pane on the S2k? If it doesn't go all the way
down to the floor, where does the bottom of the 2 points attach to?
Thanks.

Yeah, I figured that's the harness bar. However, I was just wondering why there
are no bars that make the harness bar go behind the factory bars, rather than
in front of it. My guess is structural integrity forces the bar to sit in front of
the factory roll bars.
As for hard top, it doesn't do you any good in a roll over situation does it?
Thanks.
