If I ever get it back...

No, I do not have a personal garage at the moment. For the next few months I'm stuck parking in the same garage, although I now have a personal parking spot in there that's visible from the sidewalk, so hopefully that added visibility will be a slight deterrent. I plan on upgrading the security system to one that will alert my phone when it goes off. Will most definitely be ordering seat locks and accompanying decals (thanks for the heads up, did not realize they took that long). Any other suggestions?

maybe look into getting a hardtop if you have the money.

Get rid of the $1000 deductible. It's only a few dollars a month increase for a $500 deductible. Depending on age of course.

I checked online when I had Geico and Progressive and it was a negegible difference in premiums.

Hardtop is a no go, going top down in FL is one of the reasons I got her. And the $1k deductible isn't an issue, we've saved considerably more than the difference over many years without a claim.

sad to say that you won't have very many options left if any at all when worried about interior parts getting stolen. if you were worried about your car getting stolen as a whole then lo-jack would be your best bet, i think.

i got my car a few months ago and glad to say nothing like your experience has happened to me but i wanted to take preventative measures. i got 2 different wheel lock sets, seat locks, clutch and steering wheel lock and was looking into an alarm and lo-jack. all the responses i got about getting security on your car was, "if someone wants your car or something in your car they will find a way to take it all or what they want" i ended up returning the wheel locks and didn't decide on getting an alarm and lo-jack. i'm just glad to have a personal garage at my apt complex. i do pay $105/mo for it though but i can say that i can definitely sleep at night.

edit: you could look into viper alarms. i'm not too familiar with clifford and don't know what they offer. but if you go to vipers website you can build your own alarm to your liking.

this is what i built if i were to get one

Viper SmartStart GPS Module (CDMA)
Trunk Release Solenoid
Audio Glass Break Sensor
Digital Tilt Motion Sensor
Backup Battery System
Invisibeam® Field Disturbance Sensor
Backup Battery Siren
Viper Electro-Luminescent Indicator

At long last (day 107), it looks like she's finally coming home this evening!

Glad to hear this. I bet you'll have a blast when you get to drive it again for the first time.

I was joking with a friend via text yesterday that I was going to get a message saying "yep, car is all finished, but on the way from the dealership to the repair shop it was run over by a semi and it's totaled"... Sure enough, a few minutes later I got a call saying it was all ready, but the dealership that was working on it left a baseball-size dent in the passengers door that would take him another day to repair. I said HELL NO, TAKING THE CAR TODAY and I'll bring it back another time to deal with that. So happy to be back in my S, although I barely slept a wink last night while it was in the garage. Need to go get a new alarm ASAP for some peace of mind!

What a crappy thing to have to go through, but I'm glad they (at least seem to have) made things right.

I swear, after all that, I'd have ripped someone a new one about the dent. Talk about adding insult to injury.

Congrats on having your Suzi Blue back!
