I carted a business associate areound in my stook a couple of weeks ago (a guy). He first saw the car a couple of months ago. Both times he called it CUTE!!!
This last time I said "John, Please do not ever call my car cute again. Bad ass, or kick ass, or wahatever, JUST NOT CUTE! "

Cute does seem to be a response largely from the female gender as to cars, responses from guys definitely tend to the more macho terms. I don't recall having heard "cute" used in reference to anything but my jetski so far though...

A woman at work said my car was "beautiful" the other day...that I like.
I had some kid at the Mobil station tell me my car was "off the hook"
I believe that is a good thing
I had a young under 18 girl come over and ask me If I was dating anyone...beacause her friend in the car (90's MB) wanted to go out with me...CUTE 2
but I showed her my ring

Cute is hard to take, but you have to consider the source. I try to keep in mind that they are trying to pay me a complement and that "cute" probably just about covers the limit of their knowledge about cars, much less how an enthusiast might feel about his car.
