Thanks everyone. I just sold my S2000 for a M3.

Hi All,
I wanted to post to thank everyone who have been so helpful with information on the S2000. You all rule.
I am out of the S2000 world.....for now.
Sold my 2002 Suzuka today, will be getting a 2003 IR SMG M3 Coupe tomorrow.
I took the S2000 out one last time last night with the top down at 1am. I will miss it a lot but I can only have one car (the man keeping me down with something called money) as a daily driver and the S2000 was getting to be not that car.
I choose to custom order a 2003 M3 because it has everything I wanted in terms of performance while being able to carry 4 people and offer usable trunk space.
I will try to post my M3 thoughts as well as my S2000 thoughts another time. Not a direct comparison but a what is cool and not cool of both cars.
Thanks for reading,
Archon

Archon,
Hey, this sounds familiar - I traded my '02 Spa Yellow S2000 for an '03 IR/IR M3 coupe two weeks ago. Congrats on the new car! So far, my only complaint is with the steering. I think it is too over-boosted and the level of steering effort doesn't increase with increased lateral loading, nevertheless the steering is still very precise and has decent feedback thru the wheel. I am about 3/4ths of the way thru the 1250 mile break-in period so I have not yet fully experienced what the e46 M3 has to offer. I have a set of UUC sway bars that will be installed as soon as my KW variant 3 (competition valued) coilovers come in (should be here next week). Hopefully, the addition of the sway bars and coilovers will help alleviate some of the understeer (especially when compared to the S2000) that BMW has dialed into the M3. I am curious to read your comments about the M3. Again, congrats!

Good luck!
If you have the chance, please do update us on what the M3 is like after owning an S2k. Obviously they are different cars intended to do different things, but that doesn't mean that similarities and differences can't be noted. I'm sure a lot of us are interested!
