Default Thank you Hondata!

From Hondata
1 Mar 2007

We are pleased to announce a programmable ECU solution for the 00-05 S2000.

Full details are at http://www.hondata.com/s2000kpro.html, but a summary is below:

- RSX ECU modified to suit the S2000 wiring harness.
- same features as the RSX KPro - covering big injectors, boost, nitrous, ITBs, boost control etc
- some mechanical components need to be updated to the 06-07 parts.
- will not work on the 06-07 (due to drive by wire)
- available early May (estimated date only).
- price $1795 plus approximately $300 of Honda parts.

We would request that you do not call us for more information. We will do our best to answer any questions on this forum, and either update the page on our website or update this post. If there is something you desperately need to know - you've survived 7 years without knowing so far, just be patient.

It may seem expensive, but that is Hondata's MSRP. It will be sold for cheaper through dealers, just as the K-Pro for the RSX is. I use it in my CRX and love it. Much more user friendly than the AEM unit in my opinion. If only the F20C had cam phasing

So wait, can someone please explain to me the benefit of going through all that trouble of converting all those sensors to MY06 Spec and then spending $1700 on Hondata when you can buy plug and play AEM EMS for $1400 brand new and be done with it?

What kind of benefits is Hondata offering as opposed to AEM?

Not to mention the fact that the AEM Fuel and Ignition controller is going to be released within the next 2 weeks and it will cost more than half the EMS System...

I think the best way to explain it is to think of an engine management system as a tool: worthless if the wielder does not know how to use it.
Which one is better? The one the tuner is most familar with

Overall the AEM unit is more more advanced and more complicated by far. But its functions pay off when tuned by someone that can use them all. The K pro is awsome becuase its user friendly and is the stock ecu setup. Does Obd2 function with this system so all that have to go through Emission testing via Obd2 port will be able to hook up and pass the IM readiness codes? If so its great for that one reason.
