Default Test pipe sounds... I tried searching.

I have an RSR cat back exhause kit and I want to install my T1R test pipe but I dont want it to sound anymore ricey. Will the test pipe make it sound worse or will it make it sound better or what? By worse I mean ricey and and by better I mean throatier (spelling) and have less of a drone. Any advise would be great. Thanks

There has to be someone on here with a T1R test pipe that remembers the before and after sounds...

Hey, I have a T1R testpipe on my car, but I have an HKS exhaust so it will probably sound a little different. With my car I noticed that the exhaust sounds way better IMO with the testpipe. Instead of having such a monotone RRRRRRRR note to the exhaust it is now much more rumbly sounding (more like a 350z I guess). It is hard to put sound into words, but it sounds better overall, much less ricey and more of a deep rumble from the exhaust. I'm not sure if you will have the same effect on your car with the RSR exhaust, but mine definitely did not get ricier, there is no rasp or anything like that. I posted a video clip of my exhaust in this thread, not the same as yours, but it will give you an idea if you have ever heard an HKS w/ a cat before.

i have a megan testpipe which is a little different (built in resonator). But it sounds great. I have it matched up with stock pipes but with magnaflow mufflers and i just grin everytime i get on the throttle. i wouldn't worry too much about it. worse comes to worse, you can just install it, drive around for awhile, and if you don't like it, take it off and sell it. I'm sure someone would gladly take it off your hands.
